Where are my backup files?
Your photos, music and other documents typically found in the "MY DOCUMENTS" folder have been restored there. Any files outside of the "MY
DOCUMENTS" folder that you ask us to backup can be found here: "C:\Old-Data"
How do I set my homepage?
Simply visit the page you wish to make your “home page” and drag the URL (http://www.website.com) over the icon of a House on
your toolbar.
Is there an alternative to Microsoft Office?
At your request, we can offer you a comparable and free software suite by Sun Microsystems titled Open Office. It is
essentially the same as Micorosft© Office with the exception of Outlook and Access.
How long is the warranty on your Service?
30 Days from the date of completion. All warranty work must be completed at our shop.
When you backup my system, how do you get rid of the junk/viruses/spyware?
Our backup procedure consists of backing up
everything except system files, executable files and superfluously generated content your
system makes. Once its backed up, a virus/spyware scan is run. This cleanses your data, leaving
you with clean and safe files to be ported back to your system. Programs and executable files
are very difficult to backup and restore without risking reinfection of your system, so we need
the install disks for these programs to reinstall them on your system.
How long do repairs usually take?
Repairs have a 2-3 business day turnaround. If parts
are needed that we do not have in stock, we will order them. Our parts vendors can deliver most
parts in less than a week.
Why did my computer have to be taken into the shop?
Some of our procedures include virus scans, diagnostics,
formatting, defragmenting, and so on, while the technician has to wait for the procedures to complete.
If the technician does this work at your site, he would have to spend hours waiting. To save you hours
of billable time, we take your system back to our shop and perform the work there. Since we can work
on other systems while these diagnostics and scanning programs are running, we don't have to charge you
for all this extra time.
